Creating a Hard-to-Crack Password

By now you’ve heard us tell you the simplest way to protect yourself online is to have hard-to-crack passwords for all your logins. But what do you do if you make it complex enough to beat the hackers but can’t write it down?

The trick is to invent a simple set of rules that are easy to remember and replicable across all sites.  One easy example is to take a common phrase you will remember and insert numbers, symbols and capitalization.

For example: I am a red sox fan 

Hard-to-Crack Password: 1@mAr3ds0xf@n!
