Currently, there are two important security items that are affecting many organizations, Windows 10 reaching end of life support and a recent SonicWall breach.
Windows 10 End of Support
Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. After this date, devices running Windows 10 no longer receive security updates. To maintain security and compliance, action will be required for any computer still running Windows 10. What can my organization do?
Upgrade to Windows 11 – Recommended for devices that meet Windows 11 system requirements.
Replace Older Devices – For systems that are not compatible with Windows 11, hardware replacement is advised.
Purchase Extended Security Updates (ESU) – Microsoft is offering paid ESU licenses to continue receiving security updates beyond October 2025. The cost is $61/device for the first year. The cost doubles in the second year.
SonicWall Security Notice
In September of 2025, SonicWall reported a breach of its MySonicWall portal that impacted a number of accounts.
What can my organization do?
We recommend changing MySonicWall passwords and ensuring Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is enabled. These are considered security best practices and are strongly encouraged to help safeguard your organization's SonicWall environment.
Our team is available to help review your environment, confirm protection measures are in place, and plan upgrades or other security steps as needed.
While no immediate action may be needed to address Windows 10 or these specific SonicWall threats for your organization, security remains an ongoing priority. We will keep sharing important updates and best practices to help protect your organization.
